Unhappy with bacon - thick sliced bacon

I purchased 4 packages of bacon yesterday for a big family dinner and when I opened the package, the bacon smelled rancid. It is not expired and was just put on the shelf. I am very unhappy with the Oscar Mayer/ Kraft brand.
